Clare first approached her local council for support after fleeing an unsafe situation. She had been sofa-surfing between friends and family but none of these were safe or sustainable options.

The council helped her find a place in social housing but it was completely unfurnished and Clare didn’t have the savings to afford a large upfront cost.

Her support worker referred her to Greater Change for £1486, which would enable her to purchase essential items such as a washing machine, fridge/freezer, a sofa, and kitchen items. With our support, Clare will be able to settle into her new home safely, maintain her tenancy, and reduce the risk of repeat homelessness.
