Linda

Linda

“I’m 80 years old. I have been offered a move on to an over 55’s project but I have to supply everything and start from scratch. I moved to Spain 40 years ago with my husband to start a new life. Sadly my husband passed away a few years ago and I was left to fend for myself.”

Linda lost her life partner and her home. She didn’t have anyone to turn to in her time of grief. She is a vulnerable woman that has been displaced and she had to overcome the trauma of the bereavement she experienced without suitable support.

“In September 2022, I managed to get back to England by the Spanish authorities and eventually I was found by someone working with the council, who helped me to find a place to stay. The council put me up in a hotel and then I was moved to a temporary supported accommodation with West Oxfordshire District Council (WODC). I’ve been working with Aspire to build my confidence and get back on my feet.”

Linda’s Support Worker: “Linda is so lovely and very sharp this would now give her the time to settle down with life and GC could make this happen for her.”

Linda has a small pension and is in receipt of housing benefit, which does not leave her with disposable income or give Linda needs stability and security because she does not have any family support. Her income is limited and she does not have the capacity to gain employment opportunities at this stage in her life.

Now Linda has an opportunity to have a place to call home but she needs your support to settle comfortably. Linda deserves to enjoy the rest of her life, in her forever home. It is a safe environment and she will receive appropriate care and support.
