Sarah

Sarah

Sarah will soon be moving into her own council flat. She has successfully secured other vital furnishings from other charities and from the local community, however she is still in need of a cooker and lacks the funds to carpet her new home.

Sarah became homeless after a relationship breakdown with her partner of 17 years. “My partner had put me at risk of harm so I had to leave my family behind. The pressure from being away from my children put me on the edge, my mental health deteriorated and at points I was at the verge of taking my life.”

The council placed Sarah in Supported Housing where she has been working to get herself mentally, physically, and emotionally healthy and safe. Sarah has worked hard to get her life back on track and is ready for the next chapter of her life.

With your support, we can help Sarah continue her positive journey and enable her to create a new home for herself and her children.

“I am grateful for this opportunity and working so hard to get my life on track. It’s been hard to get to this point, but I want to make myself and my children proud. My children are my life and I want to make my new home a safe space for them to return.”

Sarah’s Support Worker

Sarah’s concerned that the expenses of furnishing a bare flat would start declining into depression.  She’s worked so hard to get here, she believes she has a lot to give back and helps when she can – very positive and looking towards the future despite her life being so hard.

 Sarah’s Next Steps

  1. Step to achieve my goal is to keep working along with my childcare duties.
  2. Going to college to gain a new qualification.
  3. Save as much as I can towards rent etc.
